Policies
- Rates are per room, per night, double occupancy. Add 9% VT tax and 4% Community Marketing fee.
- High seasons are Christmas-New Years, President's Week, Fall Foliage season and holiday weekends when we add $15 per night per room.
- Extra person in room adds $30 per night per person (available for Paris Suite, Stetson Suite and Allen Suite only) and $15 per night for the Logan Suite (where breakfast is not included).
- Twin bed configuration, available by advance request in the Allen Suite and Mountain Room, adds $25 per room per stay.
- A two-night minimum stay is preferred at all times and is required for on-line booking. One-night stays are sometimes possible on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday nights) - please call us to check. There is a two-night minimum stay for the Paris Suite at all times. A three night minimum stay is preferred for all rooms for holiday weekends and for the Logan Suite at all times.
- Acceptance of shorter bookings is subject to availability and management discretion, and if accepted a $25 per night surcharge will be added.
- From time to time we offer specials, discounts and packages. In general you can take advantage of only ONE of these in any one booking, and special pricing is not available in conjunction with commissionable bookings or gift certificates.
- Check-in time is 3 PM or later. You can drop off luggage etc. earlier if you wish - just let us know ahead of time. If you will be arriving later than 8 PM please call ahead to let us know. Check-out time is 11 AM. During your stay at the Inn you are welcome to come and go as you please at any time.
- Please note that West Hill House is State licensed for the sale of alcohol. State law requires that all alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises MUST be purchased from us so please do NOT bring any alcohol with you to the Inn. We have a nice wine cellar, as well as wine by the glass, and a selection of Vermont beers available. We also have a selection of champagnes, both French and domestic. Not forgetting our Quaich Single Malt Scotch bar.
- As we are primarily an Inn to come to for quiet relaxation, we welcome children age 12 or older only.
- West Hill House is a non-smoking facility. We can direct you to outdoor locations where you may smoke. If you smoke in your room there will be a $250 cleaning charge to restore the room to pristine condition for our next guests.
- We have resident cats Smoky & Snowball who request that you leave your pets at home, or please check with us for alternative boarding recommendations. Please also advise us if you are allergic to cats. Note that the cats are never in the Logan Suite.
- We protect all information provided by guests. Your personal information is not shared with any other organization except as required to process credit card payments, and credit card information is stored only in password secured files.
Payment and Cancellations:
- A deposit of $140 per guest room booked is automatically charged to your credit card when your reservation is finalized. The deposit for the Logan Suite is $350. Your deposit may be paid by check by special arrangement.
- If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call or email us at least 21 days prior to your arrival date (60 days if the entire Inn is booked for the same event) for a cheerful refund of your deposit less a $20 service charge per room booked.
- For less than 21 days (60 days if the entire Inn is booked for the same event), not including the day of arrival, when you cancel we will be pleased to use your deposit to confirm another stay for you (of at least the same duration) within 60 days of your planned arrival date. If that is not possible for you we do need to retain your deposit, but we will offer you a discount of $70 when you book a future stay at West Hill House with an arrival date within one calendar year of the cancellation date.
- A cancellation the day of arrival, a no-show or early departure will be charged the full cost of the reserved rooms.
- Sugarbush ski or golf vouchers cannot be canceled later than 9:00 AM on the first day of the activity.
- As we need to buy ingredients and make preparations ahead of time, any specially ordered food or catered meals booked and canceled less than 3 days ahead will be charged at the full rate.
- Bookings made indirectly through another channel (Expedia etc.) need to be cancelled through that same channel and are subject to their policies. In general you will have more flexibility if you book direct with the B&B. Room prices are usually similar.
- Final payment will be due on check out and may be made in cash, by personal or travelers check, MC, Visa, Discover or AmEx.
