West Hill House owners and hosts Peter & Susan invite guests to their historic 1850's home in the Mad River Valley to enjoy four glorious seasons for romance, relaxation and recreation. West Hill House is a great choice as a quiet, comfortable central location for a multi-day visit to all the scenery, attractions and activities of central Vermont. It is also a great choice for weddings and receptions up to 80 guests, business retreats and family reunions.

The history of West Hill House is as an 1850’s Vermont home, which, like the families who have lived here, has grown and changed over the years. Originally a small family home and working farm, the property was owned by generations of the same family right up into the 1950s. Of note is that the property includes a "Sickle Tree" dating from the Civil War. The tree illustrates the tradition of farmers hanging their sickle in a tree on the property when they went off to war, then retrieving it on their return - if indeed they did.

In the 1960s West Hill House became a B&B, then in the 1990s it was expanded and modernized. Today it is a comfortable and inviting 8 room bed and breakfast. Recently systems and processes have been further updated to help qualify the B&B as a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State.

West Hill House is located in the heart of the Mad River Valley on a quiet country road nestled in a hillside forest, surrounded by its gorgeous perennial gardens. It is beside the Sugarbush ski and golf resort and minutes from the Mad River Glen ski area, on the Catamount trans-Vermont ski trail and just a few minutes drive to the famed Vermont Long Trail. The shops, artisans and marvelous restaurants of Warren and Waitsfield, Vermont are all nearby.

The B&B offers 8 unique non-smoking guest rooms all with fireplaces, air conditioning, direct dial phones with free calling and voice mail, WiFi/DSL, cable TVs, in-room movies and all with private ensuite bathrooms featuring Jacuzzis and/or steam showers.

The beds all have memory foam making them amazingly comfortable, and the hosts, who also live in the house, serve a delicious breakfast to their guests each morning after their great night's sleep. The B&B also has 3 large common rooms with fireplaces, including a library with a pool table.

West Hill House provides the finest comfort, hospitality and food, and offers a personal concierge service for all their guests to help them get the very best from their visit to the area, both by helping them plan their visit ahead of time and by making suggestions while they are staying at the B&B. There are excellent restaurants nearby and the hosts are happy to make recommendations and book a table for guests.

West Hill House is a member of Select Registry, Distinguished Inns of North America. It is designated as a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State by the State of Vermont. In 2008 West Hill House was once again delighted to receive from BedandBreakfast.com a "Best B&B Award" in the New England Region for the 2nd consecutive year - the only B&B in Vermont recognized by this Award each year. West Hill House is consistently rated #1 or #2 in Warren by TripAdvisor.com with the highest percentage of 5 star reviews in the Mad River Valley.
